About the Job

Dal-Tile is currently seeking an intermediate level Material Handler to join our TEAM! As a material handler we need someone that is experienced in stocking, checking, wrapping, and loading and unloading materials. 

Shift Hours: 7PM - 7 AM (2-2-3 Schedule)

Primary Objective


Operates various powered industrial trucks to pick customer orders and conveys orders to packing station or shipping area.


Major Function and Scope


Operates forklift and/or crane equipment


Keys orders into Warehouse Management System (WMS)


Verifies stock availability and audits orders for accuracy


Conveys picked orders to packing station or shipping area


Monitors equipment or processes and reports problems to supervisor


Follows standard operating procedures


Maintains a safe working environment by obeying all safety rules as outlines in the Safety Accountability Policy and by reporting all accidents, unsafe conditions and acts to management


Keeps area safe, clean and organized


Operates wireless devices (tablet, scanners) and automated equipment


Conducts daily cycle counts


Performs receiving duties such as receive and unload inbound material


Performs other related duties as required.


Experience and Knowledge Required


High School diploma or equivalent experience; Certified Sit-Down Forklift Operator


1 or more years previous distribution/warehouse experience. Must have a minimum of 6 months previous stand-up forklift or order picker equipment experience. No experience required for pallet jack.


Competencies

Good oral and written communications skills.  Good record keeping skills. Good listening skills. Accurate measurement capability.  Ability to understand and speak basic English. Ability to work in a safe and conscientious manner. Must be Dal-Tile certified to operate powered industrial trucks.

While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to stand, use hands, and reach with hands and arms.  The associate is required to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.  The associate may be required to sometimes sit, climb or balance.  The associate may lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.  The aver number of picks per hour is 25 and the average weight is between 40-70 lbs with heavier picks (50-70 lbs) being 65% of the work shift and lighter weight items (20-40 lbs) being 35% of the work shift.  Specific vision abilities required by this position includes close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.  While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The associate is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles.  The associate may be exposed to a wide range of temperatures.  The noise level is usually loud.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
